The Skate Shop at 36 Skate Club
Skating often enough that rentals are starting to add up? We sell Riedell, Southeastern and Crazy Skates right here at the rink. Stop at the skate shop on any open skate night and we will help you work out the right boot and the right size before you spend a dollar.
What we carry
Riedell, Southeastern and Crazy Skates cover most of what a family needs, and we can order sizes and models we do not have on the shelf:
- First pairs for kids — sized to take a beating on a wood floor.
- Recreational skates for adults — the kind you wear on a Friday night, not the kind you race in.
- Speed and artistic boots — for skaters who have outgrown a rental and know what they want.
- Wheels, bearings, toe stops and laces — the parts that wear out first.
Skate lesson students save 20%
If you are enrolled in lessons at 36 Skate Club, you get 20% off a new pair. It is the cheapest time to buy, and by then you will know what fits.
Try before you buy
There is no rush. Skate rental is $4 a session, and every pair in our rental room has been sized and skated in by somebody. Rent for a few weeks, figure out what feels right under your foot, then buy. Nobody should buy a good pair of skates off a page.
Getting the size right
Skate sizing does not match street shoe sizing, and it varies by brand. Bring the skater with you. We will measure, try a rental in that size first, and fit from there — which is the whole reason we do this at the counter instead of online.
